
Completing the Online Family Profile and Ordering Textbooks Online
Textbook purchases
may be made through Student Direct, an online division of Adams Book Company, Inc. Prior to visiting
the Student Direct website, parents need to login to the MBS website to ensure that the Family Profile data we have
on file is up-to-date. Additionally, tuition payments need to be up-to-date, and health forms must
be completed and mailed in to the School.
Step 1: Login to the MBS website.
- Click on the Community Login link found in the red banner at the top of our homepage.
- Enter your email address as your username.
- Enter your password and then click Sign In.
- New parents: If you have not yet logged in to our website, use the 10-digit telephone number we have on record.
- Returning parents: Use the same password you used during the 2010-2011 school year.
If you do not remember your password:
- In the Login box, click on the Forgot Password? link provided.
- Enter the email address we have been using for you and click SUBMIT
- If the email address you entered matches the one we have on record in our online database, a temporary password will be sent to that address.
- If the email address does not match our records, you may refresh the page in your browser and try a different address.
Step 2: Change your password - (Optional)
- Please Note: New passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
- In the sidebar menu found in the left margin of the Family Profile page, click on Change Password.
- Fill in the boxes, following the directions above each box, and then click Change.
Step 3: Complete the Family Online Profile
If you've just changed your password, you will need to click on Family Profile in the sidebar menu, in order to return to the Family Profile page.
We hope that you will supply all information requested; however, only information essential to
the School and the Directory are required. We ask that you take the time to check that the
information we have for you is accurate. If any required information is missing, you will see an
alert to that effect on your Profile page.
- The first tab on the Family Profile form is Parents. Click on the first parent name in the
list. A new set of tabs will appear on the right side of the screen. Each tab in this new area
contains information concerning the parent whose name was just selected.
Work through each tab for this parent:
- On the User Info tab, in addition to first name and last name, please be sure to make a
selection for Relationship to Student.
- Please note: numerals and suffixes, such as "Sr.", are not part of the last name. Please enter them in the "Suffix" field.
Click on Save Changes and then select the Address tab.
- Please enter the home address of this parent, click Save Changes and then select the Phone tab.
- At least one phone number is required. If you provide more than one number, please click the
checkbox adjacent to the parent's primary phone number. Click Save Changes and then select the e-mail tab.
- At least one email address is required. If you provide more than one, please click the
checkbox adjacent to the primary email address. Click Save Changes and then select the Business
tab.
- Please fill in any information you wish to provide and then click Save Changes and proceed to the Education tab.
- To add a college degree, click on the Add a Degree button. A set of empty fields will appear.
Please fill in the appropriate information and click Save Changes.
To delete any information on
this tab, simply click on the trash can icon associated with the entry you wish to delete.
Repeat the steps outlined above for each parent on the "Parent" tab on the Profile page.
If you need to add another adult to your account, please click on the "Add a Parent" link provided on the "Parents" tab.
- Click on the Students tab, and then click on the first student on the list. A new set of tabs
will appear on the right side of the screen. Please be sure the Date of Birth info is correct,
and make a selection for Student Lives With.

Please note: If you select Other, a box will appear, allowing
you to provide an alternative, such as "Grandmother", or "Guardian".
- Additionally, please enter
numerals and suffixes such as "III" and "Jr." in the "Suffix" field - not the "Last Name" field.
- Please provide telephone information for the student ONLY IF it differs from any phone numbers we may have for his / her parents.
Click on Save Changes.
Repeat the steps outlined above for each student listed on the "Students" tab.
- Click on the Siblings tab. To tell us about a sibling who does not attend Morristown-Beard School, click on the Add a Sibling button and provide the information requested.
- Click on Save Changes. To delete sibling data, click on the trash can icon that appears to the left of the Date of Birth field.
Repeat the steps above for any additional siblings who are not attending Morristown-Beard School.
- To provide us with information on Grandparents, please click on the Grandparents tab. Use the Add a Grandparent, Save Changes and trash can buttons to add, save, or delete information.
- Click on the Parent Interests tab on the Profile Page to let us know about your personal
interests and talents. Click Save Changes.
Step 4: Check for Course Listings
Please note: Course listings will be available according to the following schedule:
- Grades 6 - 10: July 23, 2012
- Grades 11, 12: August 20, 2012
- Click on the Forms tab. On the left-hand side, you will find links to an assortment of School-related
forms. If a form is not available for download from our site, you will see a message box advising
you how to obtain a copy of that form.
- On the right-hand side of the Forms tab, you will see a list of all students in your family who are enrolled in the School.
Click ( you might need to double-click ) on the first name on the list and an extended info
area will become visible. In this area, you will see a list of Form Submissions, allowing you to track forms
returned to the School. Also listed is a box for the virtual Online info form you've just completed online.
- If all requirements noted above have been fulfilled, and if the courses are available ( see schedule provided above) , you will see the course listing for this student.
Make a note of the course numbers and names, as well as the School Login Code and School Password for Student Direct - all of which are provided on the Forms tab of your Family Profile page.
Repeat the above for each student listed on the Forms tab.
Step 5: Visit Student Direct
- Follow the link provided to Student Direct's Online Help, where you will find instructions on how to set up your account with them.
- Click on the Order Books at Adams Online link, also provided on the Forms tab of your MBS Online Profile page.
Step 6: Take Note of the Reports Tab
This is where all parents will find an assortment
of information on their student(s) throughout the school year. Available reports include MBS Bookstore purchase details, Student Statements, Parent Communication Forms, Teacher Comments and Report Cards.
