Opening Doors, Opening Night

Morristown-Beard School officially unveiled its new 20,850-square foot Performing Arts facility, Founders’ Hall, on April 25th at the “Opening Doors, Opening Night” gala celebration on campus.

The spectacular evening included the naming and dedication of the facility as well as a gourmet cocktail reception, live and silent auctions, and the highlight of the evening – performances by Morristown-Beard students.

“This stunning facility, located at the crossroads of our academic and extracurricular hubs, represents the community that made it happen and the beginning of a new chapter in our School's history,” said Headmaster Alex Curtis. "This new facility has absolutely transformed our School, and the possibilities for how this venue will continue to enhance our talents, and our School, are unfolding before our eyes."

Founders’ Hall features a 630-seat theater as well as choral, instrumental and theater rooms, a dance studio, a box office, and rehearsal spaces.

The “Opening Doors, Opening Night” gala celebration was a true partnership between the Morristown-Beard Parents’ Association and the administration, faculty and staff of the School. The entire MBS community is grateful to co-chairs Virginia Ranger and Suzanne Segalas, as well as the many parents volunteers, faculty, staff, and friends whose hard work and generosity made the evening a success.

The Founders’ Hall project is being funded through the “Ahead with Confidence” capital campaign, one of the largest undertakings by Morristown-Beard School. Currently, the School has raised more than $14.8 million towards its goal of $16.2 million. The campaign has also funded the construction of Morristown-Beard’s new Middle School, which opened in the fall of 2008.
