Morristown-Beard School is hosting its 23rd Annual Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 24th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Main Gymnasium on campus. Members of the community are encouraged to participate. Anyone 16 years of age or older is eligible to donate blood.
The New York/New Jersey metropolitan areas are currently at a Blood Emergency level with less than a 2-day supply of certain types of blood available. Each day, over 400 pints of blood are used in Morris County alone. Donating one pint of blood can be used to help five different people.
The blood drive is being led by faculty coordinator Laurie Hartman as well as senior class coordinators Henry Kean ’10, Annie Taggart ’10, and junior class coordinator Allie Silvershein ’11.
Appointments for blood donation are encouraged and are on a “first-come” basis, however walk-in donors are welcome To reserve a time, please contact Laurie Hartman at (973) 539-3032 ext. 547.
