DePoalo Named NJ Devils Player of the Month
Congratulations to Morristown-Beard senior forward Dan DePoalo ’10, who was named a New Jersey Devils High School Player of the Month for February. Winners are based on nominations received from ice hockey coaches throughout the state and voted on by local media.
DePoalo was named Morristown-Beard’s Most Valuable Player this season and was called “the heart and soul of this hockey team” by Head Coach Randy Velischek. A potent offensive weapon for the Crimson, DePoalo was especially impressive in the playoffs. He scored a hat trick in a 4-1 State Tournament victory over Seton Hall Prep, and he ripped the game-winner in overtime against Morris Knolls to secure the 2010 Mennen Cup for MBS
The Morristown-Beard boys’ ice hockey team finished the year with an 18-6-2 record. They captured their fourth straight Prep Championship , their second consecutive Mennen Cup title, and they advanced to the semifinals of the State Tournament.
